Engitex13 subprogrammes

ENGITEX `13 will commence on the 14th until 19th April 2013. The target groups for this programme are engineering students from IIUM and other universities around Malaysia, students and staffs of IIUM, primary and secondary schools students, engineering and non-engineering related companies, and also the public. The subprogrammes of ENGITEX`13 are:
1. Engineering Fair (ENGINFAIR)
2. Eco Race and Innovation Challenge (ERIC)
3. World Varsity Engineering Challenge (WoVEC)
4. Generation: Engineers (GENE)
5. Engineering Explorace

ENGINEERING FAIR

ENGINFAIR 2013 has been designed for all the members of IIUM community, comprises of variety of fair and exhibitions under one roof.various mini game corners of engineering and environment related games will be opened to the visitors with many free gifts to be offered. Short competitions among IIUM engineering students will be conducted so that the students will have the opportunity be involved with the fair. There will also be a PC fair and food stalls in which many entrepreneurs will be invited to open their stalls and sell variety of products as attraction to the visitors.

GENERATION: ENGINEERS

This competition is organized
especially for the primary schools students in order to train their critical thinking and
creativity which is very crucial in engineering field.Two main tournaments will be held which are:

1. Engineering Junior Challenge for primary school pupils

2. Junior Paper Aeroplane Competition (JPAC)

ENGINEERING EXPLORACE

Engineering Explorace is a program which targeted engineering students and
Kulliyyah of Engineering community. The participants of this program will be consisting of engineering students, staffs and lecturers of Kuliyyah of Engineering. The theme chosen for this program is ‘ENVIRONMENT’. This is a race challenge that requires the participants to complete the tasks given at 11 different checkpoints altogether.

SUBPROGRAMMES

ECO RACE AND INNOVATION CHALLENGE

Eco Race and Innovation Challenge (ERIC) is a competition based programme
that comprises a series of stages. In each stage the students will be tested on their
understanding in engineering fields as well as their creativity to invent something based
on the themes given.

This challenge requires each of its participating teams to innovate and modify a given car model, and enhance it to be environmentally friendly. Teams will test their models by competing with each other in a race challenge to be awarded as a winner.

WORLD VARSITY ENGINEERING CHALLENGE

World Varsity Engineering Challenge 2013 is a challenge, opened to all undergraduate engineering students of all engineering disciplines around the world, designed to encourage participants to attend to current concerns, stimulate their innovation, and enhance global awareness so that they will become well -diverse engineers who can contribute something significant to the civilization. As comprehensive as its name, this competition challenges its participants to be good theoretically and practically.

With the awareness that we should reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency, World Varsity Engineering Challenge 2013 come to challenge student’s creativity and innovation to invent a product that are energy saving, clean and high energy efficiency.
